Reportage on "Mapping for Change - International Conference on Participatory Spatial Information Management and Communication"
14.02.2007

A video about community mapping and participatory GIS

The term Public Participation GIS (PPGIS) was coined at the International Conference on Empowerment, Marginalization and Public Participation GIS, Santa Barbara, 1998, for a particular purpose: How GIS technology could support public participation for variety of possible applications. A new resource for this topic has been shared in the resource section of Open Forum on Participatory Geographic Information Systems and Technologies.

The reportage features interviews with PGIS/P3DM practitioners from around the globe and summarizes the process and outcomes of the event.
